Sarah’s Journey with ADHD

Sarah always struggled with money. Her ADHD made impulse shopping feel impossible to control. She used to purchase things online late hours then regretted them the following morning. Credit‑card debt reached $8,000.

Sarah claims she felt like a failure. They all appeared fine at money management. Why couldn’t I?”

The moment Sarah entered the 12-week coaching program of Beautiful Minds Initiative, things were different. Her coach allowed her to realize that her brain functions in a different way – not inferior, it is different.

Together, they set up systems that worked with her ADHD. She deleted shopping apps from her phone. She started using cash for discretionary spending. She set up automatic transfers to savings right after payday.

Sarah paid off the debt of 5000 dollars after a year. She has saved up $1,200, her first emergency fund in her life. What is even more crucial is the fact that she does not despise herself because of her previous failures.

“I finally have hope,” she says. “This is economic empowerment for me.”

Marcus Finds His Path

Marcus has autism and always found job interviews terrifying. He’s brilliant with computers but struggles to explain his skills to employers. He worked part-time retail jobs that didn’t pay enough to live independently.

Through the Beautiful Minds Initiative, Marcus got both financial coaching and employment support. His coach helped him practice talking about his strengths. They created a resume that highlighted his abilities without focusing on traditional work history.

Marcus also learned to budget his irregular income. He built savings slowly, even when he could only save $20 per paycheck.

Upon the completion of the program, Marcus obtained a full-time remote tech-support job. The highly organized setting fits him well and accommodates his autism. It is with this stable income that he can now rent his own apartment.

“For the first time in my life, I feel independent,” Marcus shares. “I can take care of myself.”

Jamie’s Confidence Grows

Jamie has both ADHD and autism. Managing money felt overwhelming from every angle. She avoided thinking about finances entirely, which led to bounced checks and collection calls.

Beautiful Minds Initiative matched Jamie with a patient coach who understood her needs. They started with just one small goal: checking her bank account twice a week.

That tiny step led to bigger changes. Jamie learned to track spending using a color-coded system that her brain found easier to process. She set up bill reminders that actually worked for her.

Now Jamie handles her finances with confidence. She’s not perfect—nobody is. But she has tools and strategies that help her succeed.

“I used to think I’d always need someone else to manage my money,” Jamie says. “Now I know I can do this myself.”
